Pickaway Progress Partnership (P3), Pickaway County’s (Ohio) primary business recruitment, retention and expansion, and marketing arm, hosted its First Annual Appreciation Reception January 16th. During the event, Nate Green, Pickaway Progress Partnership’s Executive Director, announced that the Partnership  has obtained commitments totaling $1,283,750 from the public and private sectors for its 2007-2011 budget cycle.  Exceeding the minimum 5- year funding target of $1.25 million.

“The response from the community has been unbelievable, everywhere I go people are talking about P3 and the changes going on here in Pickaway County,” said Tim Colburn, VP Finance of Berger Health Systems, who chairs the Partnership Board.  “I want to thank our Community Leadership and Resource Development Group for their efforts.”

Pickaway Progress Partnership previously was a county funded Community Improvement Corporation that had lied dormant for a number of years.  Green was hired in July, 2005 as part of an effort to revamp and revitalize the CIC    to enhance the counties ability to attract and grow industry.    Resource Development Group (RDG) was charged with positioning the organization to be pro-active and progressive in the quest for new business opportunities.  RDG, with P3, held a half day Alignment Session to help focus P3’s new agenda.  RDG also worked with P3’s marketing committee to develop a new Brand and Logo, all of which was essential to the new face and new direction of the Partnership.

The purpose of the campaign was to increase public and private sector investment in Pickaway Progress Partnership.  This new funding, combined with existing dollars, will allow Pickaway Progress Partnership to increase its marketing budget, expand on its existing business retention and expansion programs, and more effectively recruit new businesses into Pickaway County.

“Pickaway Progress Partnership had a very successful PR and fund raising campaign and that has lead to a successful year for Nate Green,” stated Steve Gary, President of The Savings Bank and campaign Co-Chair.  “I believe our campaign results are a testament to the fact that we are beginning to attract a lot of positive attention from the community and the Central Ohio region in general.”

Pickaway Progress Partnership’s mission is to serve as the catalyst to create a positive business environment that promotes new investment, job growth, and job retention for this Central Ohio County of 45,000.  “I feel this new found excitement and funding will allow us to do just what our mission states,” said Green, adding “The next five years should prove to be very exciting for P3 and Pickaway County!”
