Enterprise Flagler, Flagler County, Florida’s primary business development and marketing arm, hosted its annual Installation Dinner Thursday evening. During the event, Art Barr, Enterprise Flagler’s outgoing board President, announced that the economic development entity has obtained commitments totaling $1,170,335 from the private sector for its 2007-2011 budget cycle.  This amount exceeds its minimum 5- year funding goal of $1 million.

“The response from the business community has been tremendous,” said Tom Cooley, Executive Director of Enterprise Flagler.  “I thank our terrific campaign leadership and Resource Development Group for their efforts.”

The purpose of the campaign was to increase private sector investment in Enterprise Flagler.  This new funding, combined with existing public sector dollars, will allow Enterprise Flagler to increase its marketing budget, expand on its existing business retention and expansion program, and more effectively capitalize on its partnership with the Cornerstone regional economic development effort, which is managed by the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, another RDG client.

Keynote Speaker, Robert J. Rohrlack,
Jr., CED. Senior Vice President of Business
Retention & Recruitment at Enterprise
Florida.

“Enterprise Flagler has had a very busy and successful year,” stated Art Barr, Past President of Enterprise Flagler and President of Devnet Services.  “I believe our campaign results are a testament to the fact that Enterprise Flagler’s efforts are beginning to attract a lot of positive attention from the community.”

“Enterprise Flagler is currently involved in numerous initiatives to promote a diversified and healthy economy,” said Michael Chiumento III,

President of the Enterprise Flagler Board, Campaign Co-Chair, and Partner at Chiumento & Associates, PA.  “The next five years should prove to be very exciting for Flagler County!”

Enterprise Flagler’s mission is to enhance, promote, and develop the industrial growth of Flagler County by creating an atmosphere for economic expansion through the promotion and retention of existing business, and by developing programs to actively and aggressively attract new industry and high wage jobs to Flagler County.

Resource Development Group is pleased to be able to play a small part in supporting the International Economic Development Council’s Diane Lupke Scholarship Fund.  The Lupke Scholarship  is an educational fund created for economic development professionals working in distressed communities.  It is designed to provide these professionals the same opportunity for continuing education that others in the industry have available.

RDG sponsored a raffle for two tickets to watch this seasons #1 college football team, The Ohio State Buckeyes, play the Indiana Hoosiers in Columbus, Ohio.  The winner, Richard Nevins, Assistant Director of the Mansfield (Texas) Economic Development Corporation, also won round trip airfare and two nights hotel accommodations for he and his wife, Kathy.
